Hi.

Wigal_profile

assignr.com is built and maintained by Dropkick Studios, a small web development company in Rochester, New York. And by "small", I mean "it’s just me".

My name is Jeff Wigal, and I’m a web developer and former USSF soccer referee of 10 years. I’ve been building referee assigning software since 1998, and have taken my experience of working with referee and umpire assignors to help make your assigning easier.

assignr.com was created and launched in 2009 by myself and Doug Smith, a programmer I have known for quite a while. Doug has since moved on to work on other endeavors, so now it's just me.

What we're not.

assignr.com is not the largest referee assigning service. assignr.com has a large customer base, but this is not the largest assigning service out there. I get help from others when needed, but most of the work is done by me. If you need to have a large organization backing your referee assigning service, then you shouldn’t choose us.

Telephone-based technical support isn't provided. There is nothing more frustrating than getting slow, unresponsive, or off-topic support via e-mail. Overall, my customers are very happy with the support they get for assignr.com. With assignr.com, you will never get the "run-around" with customer support. If you are looking for a 1-800 number that you can call any time you have a question, unfortunately assignr.com is not the product you are looking for.

Feature requests are always considered, but assignr.com is not a custom solution. The best ideas for new features come from my customers, and I am adding new features all the time. If you think assignr.com is missing something, let me know and I’ll consider adding it. If you need something that is custom-built for only your organization, unfortunately I’m not able to provide it.

What we are.

Simple to use, but sophisticated enough to manage the assigning needs of any sports officiating organization. assignr.com manages the needs of groups small and large, including small organizations of 25 officials, and large organizations with over 500. If you are a small officiating association, you will love the simplicity of our service. If you are a large organization, we've got you covered with the features you need to make your assigning experience as smooth as possible.

Don't take my word for it... If you'd like to talk to some of our large customers to see what their experience has been using our service, contact me and I'll get you in touch.

You won't need a 30 minute presentation to learn our system. The online documentation will give you in-depth instructions on how our system works, but you can get going quickly on your own with minimal setup.

This is not a "hobby" site. assignr.com wasn’t hacked together in a month. Doug and I spent 18 months designing and building the site, based on my 10 years of experience working with assignors from all different sports. Most customers come from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia, but some also come from Italy, Sri Lanka, and China.

Hosted on enterprise-class hardware. You won’t find the site running on an $8 / month GoDaddy web hosting account. assignr.com is built on an enterprise-class cluster of four servers, with full redundancy for all of it's systems. For you, this means that assignr.com can work through many kinds of system failure with little or no impact to our service.

assignr.com is evolving and extensible. I'm adding new features to the site all the time. You can see what's new by checking out the Change Log. Also, if you want to integrate assignr.com with another service, the assignr.com API (programming interface) can be used by technically-minded people to enable other services to talk to assignr.com.

You’ll always be talking to someone who knows the product inside-and-out. If you are shopping around for referee assigning systems, don't forget to also test out their customer support. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at what you'll get with assignr.com. When you open a support request, you won't get a Tier 1 support representative. You'll get me. I can help you with "how-to" instructions on how a feature works, as well as "best practices" advice to ensure you aren’t causing yourself problems down the road.

99.9% availability, and 100% transparency if we go offline. My goal is to keep the site up and running as close to 100% of the time as possible. 99.9% availability averages out to around 45 minutes of down-time per month for planned maintenance events or unscheduled outages. This may sound like a lot of time to be offline, but this also includes any scheduled maintenance, which many other sites exclude. Whenever possible, maintenance is scheduled during off-hours to minimize interruption to the site.

If assignr.com goes offline, updates will be posted to the status page, status.assignr.com, so that you’ll know why assignr.com went offline, and when service should be restored. You can also check out our current up-time percentages, and read information on any outages or maintenance events.

The Help Desk and e-mail systems are completely separate from the assignr.com site, so you’ll be able to get in touch even when the site is offline. The folks at Blue Box Group help me out with around-the-clock server monitoring, to ensure that the service remains up and available.

I would love to earn your business.
