Assign Referees
Once you have added games to assignr.com, the next step is to assign referees.
The Games tab is where you will spend most of your time with assignr.com. From the Games tab, you can:
- assign referees
- search for games
- view assignments
- delete a game
- edit a game
- publish a game
- send an e-mail to a game crew
- download games as a CSV (Excel)
- subscribe to an iCalendar feed
The Show button will allow you to view:
- game-related messages, and
- game comments (visible to referees)
The Edit button will allow you to change game attributes and referee assignments.
To assign referees to a game, just click the Assign link on the right-side of the game row.
You will see a drop-down menu for each position to be assigned. Next to each name, you will see one of several codes that checks for conflicts. The letters represent conflicts, or potential reasons why a referee should not be assigned to a game:
- *OK*: no conflicts
- D: (D)ate conflict (not available)
- E: working (E)lsewhere
- T: (T)eam conflict
- O: conflict with (O)ther official
- A: (A)bility conflict
- L: (L)eague conflict
- V: (V)enue conflict
- X: E(X)ternal conflict (referee is working a game with another linked assignr.com account.)
When the referee drop-down menu is changed, the screen will update to display vital information about the referee you have selected.
If you have unsaved changes on the screen, a pop-up box will appear if you try to navigate off the page.
Referee Selection, Assign All, and Save All
At the bottom of the screen, you will see a couple of other options:
- Referee Selection
- The Referee Selection feature is used to filter the referee drop-down lists. By default, all referees are shown in the drop-down lists. If you click the Hide Conflicts link, these lists will only show referees who have no conflicts with the given game. If you click the Show All Referees link, all lists will revert back to showing all referees for your site.
- Assign All
- If you click the Assign All link, all of the referee selection drop-down boxes will open up simultaneously.
- Save All
- If you click the Save All link, all of the assignment changes on the page will be immediately saved.
