Patterns

A Pattern describes the number and types of officials needed for a specific game. Each pattern has:

  • one or more positions, and
  • a name that describes the pattern

Each game is assigned a pattern. As an example, a typical soccer game has three officials: one referee and two assistant referees. A pattern that describes this scenario looks like:

  • Name: Three Officials
  • Position: Referee
  • Position: Assistant Referee
  • Position: Assistant Referee

When you created your site on assignr.com, the signup page prompted you for the sport you primarily assign. This choice will automatically populate the patterns with some appropriate defaults specific to your sport.

To add or modify a pattern:

  • Click the Maintenance menu item
  • Click the Patterns menu item.
